About Our Opportunity

As the Leasing Officer you will specialize in providing timely and accurate processing and reporting of financial transactions related to property lease agreements signed on behalf of the Province of Nova Scotia and related Agencies, Boards and Commissions. You will ensure continuity and accuracy of lease payment arrangements and perform in-depth reconciliation of financial transactions in accordance with the terms of each lease agreement.

You will be the key financial resource for the Real Property Services - Accommodations unit of the Department of Public Works and will be responsible for the maintenance and provision of financial information for all property lease agreements.

As the Leasing Officer you will report to the Manager, Financial Advisory Services.

Qualifications and Experience

This may be the right opportunity for you if you have 3 years post-secondary professional accounting training plus 5 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable.

You demonstrate a sound understanding of computerized financial systems, SAP (or equivalent), spreadsheets and word processing software.

You have a creative and analytical approach to your work and are guided by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as well as Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB).

You are a self-starter and possess sound time management and organization skills. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment working under minimal supervision. You have exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) and are detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.

Enrollment in the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) or Certified Leasing Officer programs will be considered an asset.

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

Pay Grade: TE 22

Salary Range: $2,114.98 - $2,487.23 Bi-Weekly
