Job Description

DUTIES

Reporting to the Learning Technologies Supervisor, the Learning Technologies Facilitator (LTF) is responsible for providing educational


assistance to faculty members, students and UCN staff that require technology-mediated support. The LTF will be responsible for basic


classroom set-up, troubleshooting, monitoring web conferencing systems, learning management systems, and monitoring the use of


equipment, software and media related to technology-mediated education. The LTF will also provide general classroom management


assistance, resource materials, assist with training opportunities and support systems or processes. The incumbent will be required to


provide educational assistance during the daytime programs.







REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

o Completion of a certificate in a related discipline; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered


Experience in distance learning technologies (web-conferences - Zoom, Teams, Learning Management System (LMS), etc.) Proficient computer application skills (e.g. MS Office, email, internet searches, troubleshooting, etc.) Effective problem-solving skills Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment (e.g. with changing class schedules) Comfortable working in a classroom with students and faculty to support the management of a positive learning environment Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment Ability to maintain confidentiality Strong interpersonal skills. Effective time management skills Familiarity with issues specific to Indigenous learners and mature students in northern communities Commitment to life-long learning

Previous tutoring experience Computer/Graphic editor knowledge Ability to speak an Indigenous language
