Job Summary The Learning Quality Specialist is responsible for the provision of educational and facilitation services to the Technology Training department. They act as a quality control agent to ensure that technology training provided within nationally adheres to NAV CANADA and Transport Canada standards.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Design, develop and deliver instructional technology (pedagogical) courses.
  • Facilitate teams of subject-matter experts in the design, development, and delivery of technology training courses.
  • Provide academic counselling to students / trainees throughout the technology training programs.
  • Coach instructors on effective adult educational practices and on academic counselling techniques.
  • Facilitate a positive learning atmosphere in all phases of the technology training program through consistent contact with all stakeholders.
  • Evaluate all course training materials in accordance with approved documentation standards.
  • Evaluate national training activities including needs analysis, design, delivery and all associated technology training elements and products.
  • Research new and effective adult educational practices to ensure that NAV CANADA training programs are at the forefront of best practices in training.
Job Requirements:

Education:

Successful completion of a University Degree in Education or in a related field of study

Experience:
  • Experience in facilitating groups.
  • Experience in coaching and training delivery
  • Experience in the development of training courses utilizing the Systems Approach to Training (SAT), ADDIE, or a comparable training development model.
  • Extensive experience in training methodology and processes as it relates to adult education.
  • Extensive experience training evaluation processes and techniques to measure learning and to validate training design.
  • Experience in research and data analysis.
Knowledge:
  • In depth Knowledge of the Systems Approach to Training (SAT) or Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) model.
  • Knowledge of various adult learning styles and instructional techniques.
  • Knowledge of training evaluation processes and techniques to measure learning and to validate training design.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint Online.
  • Knowledge of project management tools and processes.
Abilities:
  • Ability to provide educational consultation services to all personnel with respect to the identification of learning problems and best practices and training problem resolutions.
  • Ability to plan, organize and implement training projects from Task Analysis to pilot course.
  • Ability to lead initiatives involving needs identification, design and development, evaluation, and validation.
  • Ability to facilitate multi-functional initiatives.
  • Ability to analyze problems and determine root cause.

Working Condition:

This position is based in Ottawa Head Office and eligible for a flexible work arrangement.
