Learning Management System Administrator



(Short term contract to September 10, 2026)



ISANS is seeking a full- time Learning Management System Administrator to play a pivotal role in managing our learning management system (LMS) in Moodle and providing exceptional technical support to users. This position will work closely with the instructional designers to ensure the effective implementation and maintance of our e-Learning courses and platform. In this role you will work closely with various stakeholders and leadership team to ensure our e-Learning platforms align with organizational needs and goals.

Reporting to the Supervisor and the Manager, Digital Transformation & Technology Support, this position will be responsible for:

Duties and responsibilities



Administer and maintain the Moodle LMS, ensuring optimal performance, security, and user accessibility Oversee the data security and compliance of our LMS with privacy regulations and internal policies and processes Set up and configure courses, user accounts, and permission according to organizational needs Provide timely and effective technical support to instructors, learners, and staff via a ticketing system Troubleshoot and resolve issues within LMS collaborating with Instructional Designers, Digital Navigators and needed, escalating issues to Supervisor and Manager as appropriate Collaborate closely with the instructional designers to support the development and deployment of eLearning courses and resources with the LMS (Moodle) Assist in the integration of multimedia, interactive elements and plugins as needed to enhance the learning experience Collaborate with Learning and Design team members to create training and documentation to help users navigate the LMS and utilize its features effectively Offer ongoing support and resources to Learning and Design team members to maximize their use of the LMS platform Monitor LMS usage and performance metrics, providing insight to improve course delivery and user engagement Develop and maintain standardized tools and reports for ongoing access to learning information, such as custom/standard reports and dashboards Collaborate with IT to implement regular system upgrades, testing and implementing relevant new functionality (extensions, plugins etc.) as relevant Stay updated on Moodle developments and eLearning best practices to recommend improvements and new features Identify and communicate opportunities for process and quality improvements, providing feedback on usage, defects and suggested enhancements to Supervisor Occasional evening/weekend as required for security and maintenance upgrades

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following:



Skills:



Excellent communication and inter-personal skills to effectively support users of all levels Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment Familiarity with instructional design principles and experience collaborating with various business stakeholders Strong technical troubleshooting skills and experience ticketing systems for support

Knowledge



Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and Relational Database Servers (RDBMS) a definite asset Knowledge of eLearning standards and technologies, including SCORM and accessibility guidelines Knowledge of a variety of LMS' (such as Blackboard, Moodle, Desire2Learn etc) Knowledge of Design Thinking, ITIL, and other systems and IT practices an asset

Education and Experience:



A bachelor's degree in Education Technology, Information Technology or a related field Proven experience managing and supporting an LMS in particular Moodle Experience supporting users with varying digital skills

General responsibilities:



Contribute to seamless team operations by promptly responding to emails and providing necessary information Stay updated on internal communications via email, Connect, Teams and other channels Adhere to ISANS values, workplace policies, and procedures Consistently and accurately record relevant client information in databases. Participate fully in regular staff meetings, team meetings, training and development sessions, and ISANS events Perform additional duties as needed

Terms of Employment:



Short-term contract until September 10, 2026 Full-time, 35 hours per week Hybrid work environment: work location will be determined by operational requirements, prioritizing ISANS mission and clients to determine the right balance of in-person and virtual work.
