THE OPPORTUNITY





Reporting to the Learning & Development Manager, this

in-office

position is responsible for developing and implementing training activities and programs. You will design, execute and facilitate learning and development programs. This position ensures employees, and our Trade Partners receive the necessary training to complete their jobs, enabling them to fulfil their potential within the organization.



Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:


Support new and existing training programs. Plan, develop, create, maintain and update a variety of creative and engaging training materials suited to the learner such as practical activities, guides, manuals, job aids, resources, videos, e-learning modules, and other multimedia resources. Identify learner needs, objectives and outcomes. Produce outlines and storyboards. Collaborate with internal and external Subject Matter Experts and other stakeholders to gather information and review training materials. Build and maintain relationships across the company and with external parties. Research and select from existing and external content. Deliver and facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions. Keep up to date on adult learning best practices.



IDEAL CANDIDATE





Proven experience developing learning experiences, using instructional and visual design principles and adult learning methodologies.


Recognized education/formal training in Education, Adult Learning, Instructional Design or a related discipline (Degree or Certificate). 3 - 5 years of combined experience in developing training, ideally in a corporate environment. Ability to transform complex ideas into simple concepts and communicate them effectively to a variety of learners. Focus on leaner needs, outcomes and performance improvement. Advanced proficiency in MS Office, graphic, audio, video editing software and course authoring tools (Articulate). Strong communication and organizational skills. Comfortable working with changing priorities on multiple projects and deadlines. Must be a person of integrity, capable of excellent judgement and decision-making skills, showing the utmost discretion in the tone, words, and imagery used to convey information. Embrace content iterations to improve and streamline. Willingness to travel within AB and BC to provide onsite training. Experience with training in the construction industry is considered an asset.
