Overview

We are seeking an innovative, self-driven, and creative L&D Instructional Design Specialist who is passionate about creating best-in-class learning solutions! The L&D Design Specialist will create new learning experiences as well as improve existing learning programs using various methodologies such as Instructor Led, e-Learning Modules, Mobile Learning, micro learning, and Webinar Sessions. They will be responsible for working collaboratively with key stakeholders within GLENTEL\xe2\x80\x99s retail business to ensure impactful learning experiences as well as optimal learning transfer.

Position Scope

The L&D Design Specialist is a self-motivated, flexible, and committed individual who thrives in a team environment and is passionate about continuous learning and development. The successful candidate will have proven instructional design and course development experience in both a corporate and retail environment along with the ability to translate business needs into learning solutions. In-depth knowledge of learning trends and delivery methodologies will further enable success in this role. The L&D Design Specialist must have excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills with the ability to build and foster strong relationships within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and develops blended learning solutions for various client groups that meet the needs of the adult learner.
  • Writes and edits content, tests solutions for readiness and usability including incorporating the use of best practice technology to support instruction as needed (i.e. creation of online instructional resources).
  • Conducts needs analysis using sound design principles to identify and define training needs and for the design/development/implementation of classroom and web-based training materials including participant and instructor guides, job aids, assessments and support tools.
  • Facilitates Pilot training and Train-the-Trainer sessions for completed programs where required.
  • Analyzes test results, evaluations, and reports to determine trends and responds with follow-up training/information where required.
  • Makes recommendations for action on activities such as new instructional design technology and approaches.
  • Continually fosters business partnerships with pool of subject matter experts and leadership teams.
  • Works closely and frequently with fellow Instructional Designers, Technical Based Designers, and internal/external partners to continuously improve design practices and methodologies.
  • Acts as a resource for Regional Training Managers, where necessary, guiding them in all aspects of the application of ADDIE design principles.
  • Takes particular care to support and foster training transfer in the field.
  • Delivers, where necessary, high-quality Sales & Leadership training, using various methodologies, to help maximize sales, maintain a high level of customer service

Job Requirements

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Instructional Design experience
  • 3+ years of facilitation experience
  • Proven ability to collaborate with the L&D team in analyzing, designing, delivering, implementing and evaluating training solutions using Kirkpatrick\xe2\x80\x99s model.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced, nimble, and highly adaptable environment
  • Strong ability to work independently through the self-motivation and self-management of goal setting, time management, achievement of key deliverables within the expected time parameters
  • Strong work ethic with a positive, energetic approach and attention to detail
  • Ability to lead by example and inspire others
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism within the parameters of Glentel\xe2\x80\x99s Core Values: Trust, Respect, Ownership, Passion, Humility, and Integrity
  • Maintain an overarching commitment to driving sales and building customer loyalty, while supporting corporate goals and objectives
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong computer and audio-visual expertise including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Suite
  • Experience using e-Learning development software, preferably Articulate 360 and Rise 360
  • Experience in the retail and/or telecommunications industries preferred
  • Must be flexible to work outside of conventional work hours (on an occasional basis) to meet tight deadlines as well as occasional travel within Canada
  • Bilingual in French and English preferred
