About the Teaching and Learning Centre of Innovation




The Teaching and Learning Centre of Innovation (TLCI) at Olds College of Agriculture and Technology serves students, faculty, and staff in the following areas: Accessibility Services and Student Academic Support, Learning Commons (including the Library and Service Desk), Educational Development (including program and curriculum support, instructional support, professional development, Work Integrated Learning academic support, and Research and Scholarly Activity), Moodle and Google training and support, The Studio video production services, and the MakerSpace.

The Teaching and Learning Centre of Innovation (TLCI) at Olds College of Agriculture & Technology is seeking a student-centred and collaborative professional to join our team as a

Learning Coach.

This is a critical role dedicated to planning and delivering support that enhances the overall academic experience and success of our diverse students.

What You Will Be Doing:



Student Academic Coaching:

Provide individualized coaching in areas such as writing, presentation skills, and study strategies to help students reach their goals.

Enhancing Student Experience:

Research current trends in student success and provide expertise for course and program reviews to improve student outcomes.

Resource Development:

Create educational resources and deliver supplemental English language skills bridging for EAL learners.

Campus Collaboration:

Work alongside Educational Developers on curricular initiatives and participate in college working groups focused on student experiences.

Operational Support:

Assist with the invigilation of exams in the test centre and include remote/satellite campus students in support initiatives.

What You Bring to the Role:



Education:

A Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Sciences, Counseling, International Relations, or a related discipline.

Experience:

At least 5 years of relevant experience, particularly in supporting a diverse range of students in an inclusive environment.

Skills:

Strong proficiency with Google Apps for Education and Learning Management Systems like Moodle.

Attributes:

Exceptional interpersonal skills, proven problem-solving abilities, and the ability to manage multiple projects with diplomacy and discretion.
