Job Duties

include but not limited to: Responsible for assisting the Head Skating Instructor with all aspects of preparation, organization and delivery of the Learn to Skate program for children (ages 3 - 10) while contributing to a positive and safe environment for all participants and peers.

Qualifications

:

Two years demonstrated experience which includes working with children and adults in an instructional sports setting and experience in a recognized ice sport such as Hockey and /or Figure Skating / Ringette Minimum age of 16 years of old at the start of employment Current Standard First Aid and CPR "C" High Five Certificate and adherence to the principles of Healthy Child Development (Children ages 6 to 12 years) Level 1 NCCP Theory City of Markham Learn to Skate Training Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures. Excellent verbal/written communication skills, leadership skills, customer service skills and sensitivity to interact with a diversity of patrons, parents and staff in a courteous and efficient manner. Ability to teach basic level skating and/or hockey to children and youth. Demonstrated ability to skate at the level required for instruction
