Cyclone Manufacturing (A Mubea Aviation Company) is a vertically integrated full-service provider of 3-5 axis machining, sheet metal fabrication, tube bending, welding and minor sub-assemblies of aerospace structural components to the largest aerospace companies such as Boeing, AIDC, Bombardier, Embraer, FACC, GE, IAI, Liebherr, Lockheed Martin, MHI, SAAB, Stelia, Spirit AeroSystems and Triumph Aerostructures. Our surface treatment and controlled processes are approved by the major OEMs such as Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Embraer, IAI and Lockheed Martin.

Cyclone is a privately owned company with over 750 highly skilled employees housed within six state-of-the-art facilities totaling 450,000 square feet in both Canada and Poland.

Job Summary:



We are seeking a

Lean Manufacturing Specialist

to join our Manufacturing Engineering team and drive continuous improvement initiatives within our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lean principles, process optimization, and waste reduction. This role requires a strategic thinker who can collaborate with cross-functional teams, identify opportunities for improvement, and lead the implementation of lean methodologies to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:



Lean Process Improvement

: Lead and support lean initiatives to streamline manufacturing processes, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.

Process Mapping

: Analyze current manufacturing processes using tools like Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.

Kaizen Events

: Facilitate Kaizen workshops and continuous improvement events to foster a culture of innovation and problem-solving.

Training & Development

: Educate and train employees on lean principles, tools (5S, Six Sigma, Kanban, TPM), and methodologies to ensure widespread understanding and application.

Data Analysis & Reporting

: Collect and analyze production data to assess the effectiveness of lean initiatives and generate actionable insights for continuous improvement.

Problem Solving

: Utilize root cause analysis tools such as 5 Whys and Fishbone diagrams to address production issues and implement sustainable solutions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

: Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to align lean efforts with company goals and operational needs.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

: Assist in the development, improvement, and implementation of SOPs to ensure consistency and efficiency in manufacturing processes.

Cost Reduction

: Identify opportunities for cost savings through the reduction of waste, energy consumption, and downtime.

Performance Metrics

: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the success of lean initiatives and provide regular reports to management.

Qualifications:



Education

: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (preferred).

Experience

: Minimum of 3 years of experience in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement roles within a manufacturing environment.

Certification

: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification (preferred).

Skills

: Strong understanding of lean principles and tools (5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Kanban, TPM). Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and work collaboratively. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Knowledge of ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics AX) is a plus.

Preferred:



Experience with project management and leading large-scale continuous improvement initiatives. Knowledge of automation, robotics, and Industry 4.0 concepts.

Physical Requirements:



Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including being on the production floor when necessary. Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 lbs.
