Reporting to the Manager, Leadership Giving, the Leadership Giving Officer, is responsible for developing, managing, and stewarding a portfolio of donors/prospects in collaboration with fundraising colleagues as part of the Leadership Giving program and services designed to facilitate lifelong relationships with UVic donors, alumni and students.
This role will be required to work independently and demonstrate a high level of initiative while being in a dynamic team environment where flexibility and multi-tasking is essential.
*This position is eligible for a Hybrid Work Arrangement*
The salary range for this position is:

  • Recruitment range: $75,755 - $83,525 starting salary determined by the PEA Collective Agreement.
  • Performance range: $98,528 salary range ceiling is available through annual performance increases.
Job Summary
Mandate:
The Leadership Giving Officer is responsible for developing, managing, and stewarding a portfolio of donors/prospects in collaboration with fundraising colleagues as part of the Leadership Giving program and services designed to facilitate lifelong relationships with UVic donors, alumni, and students.
Alumni & Development is the unit of the university responsible for creating strong relationships and building philanthropic commitment between the University of Victoria and its alumni and friends.
It comprises a committed staff team who work both centrally and in faculties and units to identify opportunities where faculty, staff, donors, and alumni can be instrumental to enhancing UVic's programs, research, and student support. Leadership Giving is responsible for raising gifts in the range of $1,000-$24,999 for UVic's strategic fundraising priorities.
Objectives:
Working in collaboration with their central and faculty-based fundraising colleagues, the Leadership Giving Officer manages a portfolio of prospects and donors with the goal of identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding leadership gift donors, as well as working collaboratively with Development Officers in identifying, qualifying, and referring major and planned gift prospects.
This role will be required to work independently and demonstrate a high level of initiative while being in a dynamic team environment where flexibility and multi-tasking is essential.
Job Requirements
This position requires a level of education, training, and experience equivalent to Bachelor's degree plus minimum 3 years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:

  • Proven track record of achieving project goals on time and producing high-quality deliverables.
  • Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills.
Assets:
  • Proven track record of identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and closing gifts of $1,000+ range.
  • Experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge or similar CRM.
  • Experience with higher education and/or a complex organization.
  • Grant writing experience.
  • Knowledge of volunteer engagement best practices in peer-to-peer solicitations.
  • Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation.
