As the Leader, Recreation Service Delivery, you will manage staff and infrastructure in the operation of City-wide Recreation Facilities and amenities. In this position, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to staff and develop and implement short- and medium-term strategies for the provision and maintenance of public facilities. The Leader, Recreation Service Delivery anticipates business needs, researches best practices and identifies gaps in processes, procedures, services and develops performance improvements with a direct impact on customer experience. Primary duties include:

Lead the development and implementation of business unit strategies and processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and overall performance for Recreation Service Delivery. Coordinate resources to develop and implement business improvements to fill service provision gaps. Participate in long-term planning for new facilities, act as a subject matter expert on staffing models, customer expectations, equipment requirements and optimized amenities. Address escalated concerns from staff and the community. Ensure business continuity by reviewing existing plans, creating contingency plans and ensuring uninterrupted service delivery during emergencies.


Qualifications

A degree in Recreation and Sport, Human Services, Business Administration and at least 8 years of years related experience that includes recreation and sport administration, staff supervision, financial oversight, strategic planning, facility operations, policy development, relationship management, issues management and communication, and political acumen. Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Success in this position requires the following: + Strong Collaboration and communication skills
+ Effective management & leadership capabilities
+ Experience managing staff in union/collective bargaining setting
+ Financial acumen.

Working Conditions:

Office environment is recreation facility, customer interface and requirement to travel to different locations.

Workstyle

: This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

Compensation: Level M2 $130,400 - 163,000 per annum
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
