The UNIVERSITY OF REGINA School of Journalism in the Faculty of Arts invites applications for a half-time one-semester position as the LP Foundation Chair in Journalism from January, 1, 2024 to April 30, 2024.
The successful candidate will teach one class on the independent and critical practice of broadcast/digital journalism and teaching the essential skills to become a successful radio journalist. This position includes further responsibilities as below:

  • Supervise students\xe2\x80\x99 work and provide detailed feedback
  • Update and enhance program delivery
  • The chair will be available as a resource person for the students, faculty and staff of the School of Journalism.

The Winter class is JRN402.
JRN 402. Digital Radio News Journalism.
This course builds on previous radio skills. Students will produce radio shows for audiences in collaboration with Regina Community Radio, current affairs long stories. Students will also be introduced to digital radio components through making individual podcasts and placing them on the web with the use of RSS technology. Position Requirements
The candidate\xe2\x80\x99s proven ability to teach both editorial and technical lab components is required. Relevant professional experience is preferred. Preference will also be given to applicants with experience working across broadcast and digital journalism. Applicants must hold, at minimum, a Bachelor of Journalism degree or equivalent. The successful applicant must have excellent communication skills, comprehensive knowledge of journalistic practices and a demonstrated commitment and enthusiasm for teaching. Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Miscellaneous Salary Range Per the Collective Agreement and based on the qualifications of the candidate Status Term Work Hours
