Your expertise will be pivotal in shaping an accounts payable function that not only meets the demands of their growing organization but also sets new standards in efficiency and effectiveness. In this role, your ability to cultivate a high-performing team, setting ambitious goals and fostering an environment of growth and excellence, is crucial to success.The ideal candidate is an experienced professional in accounts payables operations and cash management within a complex multi-faceted business environment, who excels in navigating high-volume transactions with a diverse array of vendors. You are a hands-on leader able to work seamlessly across the organization and drive the evolution of people, processes, and systems towards excellence in their financial operations. In this multifaceted role, you are strategic thinker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with other leaders to drive positive change. Your expertise includes a demonstrated knack for creative problem-solving and the ability to thrive in dynamic, deadline-driven scenarios. You can effortlessly translate intricate financial data into actionable insights, and whose leadership capabilities, effective communication skills and collaborative spirit allow you to excel in diverse team environments.Key Responsibilities:Operational Excellence and Oversight:

  • Oversee accounts payable and cash management functions to maintain effective internal controls and excellence in vendor management, invoice capturing, and timely payment processing.
  • Ensure service and functional excellence in a complex, multi-stakeholder company.
Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead, develop, and support the accounts payable and cash management team.
  • Set performance goals and provide mentorship to enhance team performance.
Performance Evaluation and Communication:
  • Implement performance metrics for continuous evaluation.
  • Utilize dashboards or visualization tools for real-time communication of performance metrics.
Process and System Enhancement and Scalability:
  • Proactively identify and implement critical process and system enhancements.
  • Ensure processes and systems are scalable to meet evolving business needs.
Cash Management and Forecasting:
  • Manage the company\'s cash position, including forecasting and analysis.
  • Enhance cash flow forecasting models to optimize working capital.
Financial Controls and Compliance:
  • Monitor and enhance internal controls surrounding cash management activities.
  • Oversee accounts payable reports and ensure compliance with company and parent company policies.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in a progressive accounts payable, treasury or cash management environment with ideally at least two of those in a leadership or supervisory position.
  • Post secondary education in Business, Finance, or related field.
  • MBA, CFA, FRM, or CPA designation or Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or similar designation would be considered assets.
  • Proactive, hands-on approach to develop solutions, get buy-in from others, and then execute successfully.
  • A strategic mindset with a strong focus on analytics, problem solving, attention to detail and organizational excellence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; a collaborative spirit.
  • Proven track record of successful stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring, providing constructive feedback and proactively managing performance.
  • Experience with change management or project management.
