Summary:
As Leader, Commercial Solutions, you will be at the center of this transformation, providing strategic, technical, and operational leadership for AFSC's client-facing digital ecosystem. Reporting to the Chief Information & Digital Officer, you will guide modernization of AFSC's insurance, lending, AgriStability, and client platforms, ensuring they deliver reliable, secure, and user-centric solutions that advance the organization's mission and empower Alberta's producers. You'll lead with purpose, driving modernization that improves both technology performance and the client experience, while shaping a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation across the enterprise.

As Leader, Commercial Solutions, you will be at the center of this transformation, providing strategic, technical, and operational leadership for AFSC's client-facing digital ecosystem. Reporting to the Chief Information & Digital Officer, you will guide modernization of AFSC's insurance, lending, AgriStability, and client platforms, ensuring they deliver reliable, secure, and user-centric solutions that advance the organization's mission and empower Alberta's producers. You'll lead with purpose, driving modernization that improves both technology performance and the client experience, while shaping a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for AFSC's Commercial Solutions portfolio, including Crop, Wildlife, Livestock, Adjusting, AgriStability, Lending, and AFSC Connect, with a focus on product roadmap development and execution, ongoing sustainment, and ensuring security and stability for a seamless client digital experience.
  • Translate enterprise digital strategy into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Oversee lifecycle planning, modernization, and integration of key business applications.
  • Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and workforce planning to ensure efficient, transparent, and financially disciplined delivery of digital solutions.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing, collaborative team that values innovation, accountability, and inclusion.
  • Foster cross-functional engagement across technology and business units to ensure digital initiatives deliver measurable business value.

They demonstrate strategic foresight and practical execution, fostering teams that are innovative, accountable, and inclusive. They thrive in collaborative environments and view technology as a catalyst for people and progress. They bring:
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered, including demonstrated capability in leading complex, enterprise-level initiatives.
  • Proven success leading complex technology portfolios and fostering partnership across IT and business teams.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, and governance frameworks that ensure service reliability, security, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication, change leadership, and people development skills that engender trust and inclusion across teams.
  • A deep understanding of digital platforms in financial services, insurance, CRM, or lending environments, and familiarity with Salesforce or nCino considered an asset.
