Role Overview:





The Lead Yard Engineer is responsible for providing engineering support to the Dockmaster and technical support and production support to the PMO and other internal clients. The Lead Yard Engineer provides leadership and guidance to the Yard Engineering Team and works with the GMO to develop capital investment plans in support of current and future business.



Key Responsibilities:





Prepare and maintain blocking calculation and docking plans for all dockings Prepare and maintain production support information, detailed engineering and technical drawings in support of PMO Prepare and maintain graphic art and technical drawings in support of GMO Advancing the digitization of production Propose automation strategies and increase robotic utilization for steel fabrication. Craft procedures and work instructions for both the Yard Engineering and Production Departments. Collaborate with the GMO to strategic planning and promote a culture of safety and integrity. Works closely with the Yard Superintendent to prioritize and schedule routine maintenance and repairs, ensuring high levels of asset availability and reliability while controlling costs Develop and support solutions to improve project scheduling, resource and material planning related to the production support department. Supporting the implementation of the new ERP solution and leading further digitalization of production Promotes corporate vision and acts as a role model for health and safety and other programs. Engage in the annual operational and capital budget development and management Performs additional duties as required



Qualification Requirements




Canadian citizenship or legal authorization to work in Canada Minimum 5 years of experience in progressively senior management positions in ship repair or shipbuilding industry Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Naval Architect), or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Commitment to business ethics, integrity and transparency in all situations Strong technical, analytical, communication, organizational, and leadership skills Knowledge of the English language, verbal and written Proficient communicating in English both verbal and written Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and CAD software solutions used in the industry (Cadmatic, Siemens Nx) Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills Strong interpersonal, negotiation and supervisory skills



Compensation & Benefits:
