Welding Supervisor / Lead Welder is a working supervisor responsible for leading daily welding and fabrication operations while actively performing welding and fit-up work. This role balances hands-on production with team leadership, quality control, and safety oversight in a custom manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate leads by example, produces high-quality welds, and keeps projects moving efficiently and safely.
Hands-On Welding & Fabrication (Primary Role)
Perform MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding on steel, aluminum, and stainless components
Complete fit-ups, fabrication, and custom assemblies from drawings or sketches
Ensure weld quality meets company standards and customer requirements
Assist with complex, high-skill welds or critical components
Troubleshoot fabrication, fit-up, and welding challenges on the shop floor
Supervision & Leadership
Lead and support welders and fabrication staff on a daily basis
Assign tasks based on skill level, job requirements, and timelines
Work alongside the team to maintain productivity and morale
Train and mentor welders, apprentices, and new hires
Set expectations for workmanship, efficiency, and safety
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
