We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for technical professionals ideally with exposure to projects in either a management, coordination, or support capacity to join our expanding, dynamic team collaborating to meet that goal.

We have several exciting Project Management opportunities within the Water Projects team, supporting the execution of our Sustainable Development strategy through delivery on multiple project streams, including;

  • Water Quality; projects supporting implementation of the Elk Valley Water Quality Plan, including implementation of proven technologies and piloting of new technologies to improve water quality and quantity
  • Land & Reclamation; projects related to our Nature Positive and Biodiversity initiatives
  • Water Quality Operations; continuous improvement projects at our Active Water Treatment and Saturated Rock Fill (SRF) infrastructure
  • Calcite Management; calcite prevention and stream remediation projects
  • Fish & Fish Habitat; aquatic ecosystem restoration, rehabilitation, and enhancement projects, supporting habitat offsetting and watershed stewardship
Reporting to the Manager, Water Projects, you will be responsible for leading water quality and environmental projects through all project phases from pre-scoping through to execution and handover to operations.

We require someone who has strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills and demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Develop and manage scopes of work for environmental management, ECPM and mine water management strategies; managing consultants through design and execution of projects
  • Lead project teams to engage partners across sites, corporate functional areas, and operations to execute project work which may include activities including earthworks, instream works, or drilling programs to achieve key project success factors of safety, cost, schedule, and quality
  • Support efficient decision processes through information gathering, trade-off studies, risk evaluations, and providing recommendations that align with project objectives and priorities
  • Participate in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Hazard and Operability Studies, and Environmental Risk Assessments
  • Participate in value-engineering, constructability, and operability reviews
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of project delivery systems and processes to enable improved outcomes for current and future projects
  • Supporting environmental baseline monitoring plan development and execution, data management and permit/authorization compliance, and environmental benefits and effects assessments
  • Engage with regulatory stakeholders in accordance with provincial and federal environmental regulations and permitting processes, including the provincial Mines Act, Environmental Management Act, Water Sustainability Act and the federal Fisheries Act
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Engineering (Mining, Civil, Environmental) or Science, in Forestry, Biology, Agriculture, Environmental Science or related field
  • Minimum three years of professional work experience on projects including engineering design, environmental assessments, permitting, field support or construction
  • Excellent project management skills including development and management of scope, schedule, and budget for multiple projects
  • Professional accreditation, such as PPM, PBio, PAg, or registered, or eligible for registration, as a P.Eng with the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia
