Role Overview



We are seeking a

Lead Technical Coordinator

to work with our Architectural Team in our downtown Hamilton office. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, have substantial residential construction experience, a keen eye for detail and the ability to work with an epic team on the execution of our gnarly homes. This role will report to the Director of Operations and the Owner/CEO.

Responsibilities



Provide guidance to the drafting team for the preparation of detailed, accurate and technically proficient residential construction plans Review and approve construction plans for structural components and OBC compliance prior to permit submission Coordinate with external partners for all construction related documents needed for permit submission, including but not limited to structural engineering, mechanical design, civil and landscape design and site servicing Work closely with the drafting and permit team to ensure accurate and timely submissions Manage timelines and scheduling of internal resources, and timelines associated to external consultants using project management software (monday.com) Provide project updates to management team at weekly operational meetings Prepare responses and revisions to address building permit deficiencies Main point of contact for builders during project construction, including visits to construction sites when required Follow guidelines and processes outlined in the smpl project roadmap

Qualifications



7+ years experience in residential construction/design/drafting Extensive knowledge of Part 9 of the OBC Diploma in Architectural Technology is considered an asset BCIN qualification is considered an asset Comprehensive knowledge of current North American architectural standards, building sciences, construction methodologies and materials application Excellent communication and organizational skills with internal design team, clients, subcontractors, external consultants and municipal staff Superior attention to detail and capacity to manage multiple projects with the flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities Ability to effectively provide and receive feedback in a positive manner Driver's license and access to personal vehicle

Pay: $85,000.00-$100,000.00 per year

Hamilton, ON L8R 2G2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:

Canadian residential construction, design, or drafting: 7 years (required)
Licence/Certification:

BCIN license (preferred)
Work Location: In person
