Ontario Health is seeking a strategic and experienced Lead, Talent Management to join our Talent, Learning and Leadership team. Reporting to the Director, this role is instrumental in designing and delivering talent initiatives that enhance organizational capability, drive employee engagement, and support leadership development across the organization.
As a trusted advisor and internal consultant, you will translate strategy into action by implementing key talent initiatives in collaboration with HR Business Partners, Centres of Excellence, and business leaders. You'll bring a change management mindset, strong communication skills, and a passion for building inclusive, high-performing teams.
Here is what you will be doing:
Organizational EffectivenessAct as a subject matter expert and internal consultant for talent initiatives aligned with Ontario Health's strategic goals. Design and manage talent frameworks, including capability models and career pathways. Lead performance management strategies that foster a performance-driven culture through coaching and leadership development. Apply change management principles to support successful implementation of organizational initiatives. Integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) into all talent practices in collaboration with the Provincial Equity Office. Deliver equitable talent solutions that support employee development and organizational capability.

Functional LeadershipDrive execution of talent initiatives that enhance people, team, and leadership performance. Build strong partnerships with HR Business Partners and Centres of Excellence to align talent solutions with organizational needs. Provide technical leadership in designing scalable talent management processes. Use data and analytics to evaluate program impact, identify trends, and refine strategies.

Teams & CultureCollaborate with diverse stakeholder groups to build consensus and ensure alignment on talent initiatives. Provide expert advice and recommendations on talent management matters across Ontario Health. Independently lead and facilitate learning events and information sessions related to talent programs. Act as a thought leader in talent and career development, influencing strategy and planning. Monitor talent trends, engagement, turnover, and pipeline strength to inform decision-making. Support a healthy team culture and provide informal leadership within the Talent, Learning and Leadership team.

Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience:Post-secondary education (minimum College Diploma) in healthcare, human resources, organizational development, learning & development, or a related field. Minimum 10 years of progressive HR or Talent Management experience, with 3-5 years in a strategic role. Certification in Talent Management or Organizational Development (e.g., CTDP, SHRM-SCP, Strategic Talent Management Certification) is an asset. Experience in change management or project management is an asset.

Key CompetenciesDeep understanding of talent processes including performance management, succession planning, and leadership development. Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives. Experience developing talent strategies in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. Proficiency with HRIS, talent analytics platforms, and performance management systems. Strong consulting skills and a continuous improvement mindset. Financial and business acumen to manage programs within budget and demonstrate ROI. Ability to integrate DEI principles into core talent programming. Strong project management, facilitation, and communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related tools.
