The Lead Snowmaker works as part of the Grooming/Snowmaking team. He/She is responsible for assisting in the smooth running of the overall snow making operation. They must assist in training and overseeing staff as well as maintaining proper working order of snow guns and equipment. They may at times also be required to assist elsewhere on the mountain in other departments.
The incumbent should expect to be working outside in any, all and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
This is a full-time seasonal role, 4 days out of 7 per week.

Qualifications
Intermediate level (or better) skier/snowboarder
Capable of working outside, at times in severe weather
Ski Industry experience
Mechanical background
Previous snowmaking experience
Physically fit
Must be able to work flexible shifts
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Previous knowledge of/experience in all aspects of snowmaking operations, including (but not limited to) pump house start up and operation, pump house shutdown, setup and operation of all snow guns
Pump and motor maintenance experience (i.e. greasing, oil changes, etc.)
Snow gun maintenance experience (i.e. oil changes, nozzle replacement, etc.)
Ability to train new snowmakers in snowmaking operations and snowmobile operations
Working knowledge of pumps, plumbing, compressors, etc.
Familiar with Marmot Basin's snowmaking terrain, coverage requirements, etc.
Knowledge of Parks Canada best management practices as they pertain to snowmaking
Ability to troubleshoot and solve snowmaking issues independently as they arise
Previous snowcat operating experience.

Work in a safe efficient manner; point out any safety concerns that may create an unsafe situation
Assist in all emergency situations
Assist other departments as needed; other duties as assigned.
