This role is pivotal in enhancing our organization\'s security posture, focusing on the technical and strategic aspects of security rather than people management. The ideal candidate will be a technical leader, driving the definition and implementation of our security architecture, cloud security strategy, and automation capabilities to bolster our defense mechanisms.Key Responsibilities
  • Support and propel security engineering projects that significantly elevate our security maturity. Serve as a technical leader in defining and executing these initiatives.
  • Craft and define the technical security architecture, considering both functional and non-functional requirements in line with the organization\'s risk appetite. Ensure alignment with business objectives and outcomes.
  • Spearhead the development and implementation of a comprehensive cloud security strategy and roadmap, ensuring our cloud environments are robustly secured.
  • Proactively evaluate and stay abreast of emerging security technologies, trends, and standards. Provide insightful recommendations to keep our security practices ahead of potential threats.
  • Conduct thorough security assessments, offering technical security expertise.
  • Effectively communicate architectural security decisions and risks to all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with technology engineering and operations teams to embed security principles by design, ensuring security is integrated at every stage of development.
  • Design and implement security platforms, automation capabilities, use cases, and scripts to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our security operations.
QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s or Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in computer science or a related technology field.
  • Possession of CISSP, CISSP-ISSAP, CISA, CISM, or CCSP certification is required.
  • Additional certifications in technical security (SSCP, CEH, CHFI, OSCP, OSCE) or cloud security platforms (AWS, Azure) are highly desirable.
Experience
  • At least 9 years of experience in Security Engineering or a related information security role.
  • Minimum of 2 year of experience within the Canadian financial services sector is preferred.
  • Proven experience in deploying and managing various security platforms and in designing and building security use cases.
  • Strong understanding of programming languages and the capability to develop scripts. Deep knowledge of Security Standards such as ISO 27000 series and NIST.
  • Experienced in securing cloud platforms and containers.
