Mather Economics and Sophi.io, leaders in newsroom analytics, paywalls, and AI, are looking for an experienced Python Software Developer to deploy an impressive new product tool that automates the layout of the daily print newspaper design.

Sophi is a 34 person AI SaaS business, offering a suite of AI tools that help news publishers be more successful and more efficient. We were recently acquired by Mather Economics, a strategic analytics services company that works with hundreds of news publishers globally. This role is focused on an impressive Sophi print automation tool that automates the layout of the daily print newspaper design. We are onboarding lot of large news brands in Europe, so if you\xe2\x80\x99re in that time zone, that\xe2\x80\x99s a bonus!

Key Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with senior engineers and other teammates to maintain the product and develop new features
• Provide technical support to external clients and join feedback sessions (North America/European Time Zones)
• Integrate with external partner CMS clients and internal APIs, predominantly using JSON formatting
• After fully on-boarded in your role, attend calls with new customers - to help understand evolving needs for new product features we may develop
• System monitoring, development phases and error report generation

Qualifications:

• Background in Software Development and Engineering
• Must have personal accountability and self-motivation
• Proficient with Python, Git, JSON
• Education or experience in Algorithms (NP Problems), Heuristics algorithms, Optimization algorithms

Nice to Have:

• Experience using AWS (ECS, Lambda), Terraform
• Experience developing a Relational Database for Product KPI reporting
• Experience with designing and building tooling for automated task execution and file processing
• Experience with shell scripting

This is a full-time salaried position with competitive compensation package.
