What You'll Be Doing
As an integral member of the Digital Banking and Experience Design team, interim reporting to the Senior Director, Product and Platforms, the Lead, Product is responsible for the end-to-end execution and delivery of one or more digital products or initiatives, including those powered by AI and generative AI capabilities. The Lead executes with excellence, lead cross-functional teams and ensure the successful launch and ongoing iterations of assigned product(s) and key digital capabilities. This role balances hands-on product management with leadership responsibilities, including mentoring junior team members and fostering a culture of innovation.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role you'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 2-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How You'll SucceedProduct leadership and execution - Own the multi-year product lifecycle from vision and strategy through delivery, launch, and ongoing optimization for assigned digital products or initiatives, including AI-powered features and experiences. Develop and maintain product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business objectives, client needs, regulatory requirements, and emerging AI technologies. Lead the creation, prioritization, and refinement of product backlogs in partnership with stakeholders, analytics, design, technology, and user research teams--including the integration of AI/ML models and gen AI solutions. Translate strategic objectives into actionable product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to guide development teams, with a focus on delivering innovative, AI-enabled digital experiences.
Cross-functional collaboration - Drive scaled agile delivery across persistent teams, ensuring operational efficiency and delivery against defined KPIs. Partner closely with UX, design, analytics, engineering, risk, legal, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality digital solutions, including the responsible use and deployment of AI technologies. Champion the voice of the client by leveraging market research, user feedback, and data analytics--including insights from AI-driven tools--to inform product decisions.
Product delivery & optimization - Manage go-to-market and release plans, overseeing scope, schedule, and budget to maximize ROI. Monitor product performance, adoption, and client satisfaction; use insights (including those derived from AI analytics) to iterate and improve the product. Act as a subject matter expert for your product(s), supporting resolution of escalations and production issues, including those unique to AI-powered features.
Talent Development & Leadership - Mentor and provide dotted-line leadership to junior product managers and associates, fostering skill development and a high-performance team culture. Promote continuous improvement in product management practices and team operations, with a focus on advancing AI literacy and capability within the team.
Who You AreYou have demonstrate 7 to 9 years of progressive work experience in product management (preferably in financial services or technology), with hands-on experience delivering products that leverage AI, machine learning, or generative AI technologies. It's an asset if you are familiar with AI ethics, responsible AI practices, and the challenges of deploying AI in digital banking.
You can demonstrate understanding of the fundamentals of AI/ML and generative AI, and have successfully led the integration or launch of AI-powered features or products. You can translate AI capabilities into client value and practical digital experiences. You leverage data to identify trends, measure impact, and inform product decisions. You have experience in interpreting data, building business cases, and defining KPIs, including those related to AI-driven features.
You can demonstrate 5 to 9 years of work experience in agile methodologies and scaled agile delivery. You have experience managing complex projects, balancing competing priorities, and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery.
You have a track record of driving new product launches (0 to 1) or leading the delivery of net new digital products, and/or key capabilities, including those featuring emerging technologies like AI.
