We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the kitchen by assisting with food preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are ready for cooking, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. This position is essential for supporting our chefs in delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the quality and safety of all food items.
Support the cooking team by preparing meals according to established recipes and standards.
Handle food items with care, ensuring proper storage and labeling.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during meal periods.
Participate in catering events as required, assisting with meal setup and serving.
Skills
Proven experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred.
Strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques.
Knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations.
Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is highly desirable.
Excellent knife skills for efficient food preparation.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
