Qualifications
Previous experience in banquet operations or hospitality, with supervisory experience preferred
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
Ability to multitask and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage last-minute changes efficiently
Ability to work independently and as part of a team effectively
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality service
Ability to lift over 25 lbs on a consistent basis
Ability to read, interpret, and execute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the food and beverage industry
Responsibilities
Supervision & Leadership
+ Train, supervise, and mentor the Banquet Porter team
+ Assign tasks and ensure proper execution of banquet setups and breakdowns
+ Maintain clear communication between porters, banquet servers, and management
+ Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to enhance performance and service standards
Banquet Setup & Execution
+ Oversee banquet room setup according to BEO specifications
+ Ensure timely and efficient tear-down of events, checking equipment for damage and proper storage
+ Coordinate with the Banquet Manager and other departments to ensure smooth event operations
Guest Service & Problem Resolution
+ Handle guest concerns, requests, and special accommodations professionally and promptly
+ Communicate additional client requests to the Banquet Manager and Director of Food & Beverage
Equipment & Inventory Management
+ Maintain all banquet equipment in excellent working condition and report deficiencies
+ Conduct monthly inventory checks on banquet equipment and supplies
+ Ensure banquet storage areas are clean, organized, and stocked appropriately
Compliance & Safety
+ Enforce health, safety, and cleanliness standards in all banquet areas
+ Ensure all staff adhere to safety guidelines when handling equipment and furniture
Other Duties
+ Assist in planning and executing special events as needed
+ Complete additional tasks assigned by management to ensure the seamless operation of the banquet department
