Our Engineering department is looking to add a Lead Mechanical Engineer to the team here in St. John\'s, NL! Working within the Engineering Team, the Lead Mechanical Engineer is responsible to conduct studies and complete detailed work related to the modification and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems for offshore oil and gas installations.

What will you be doing?

  • Coordinate work within the Mechanical discipline, ensuring deliverables are completed in line with the project requirements, standards, and regulations.
  • Review, interpretation, and design of mechanical systems, including vendor package management, preparation of technical reports, design drawings, equipment sizing, and specifications.
  • Works together with other members of the discipline team, and with other engineering disciplines, through work development; investigates, advises and resolves design and field engineering problems.
  • Take a lead role in problem analysis, organizing investigations, solution development, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Supports procurement, fabrication, and construction efforts including through bid evaluations, communication with suppliers, documentation review, and support to offshore execution.
  • Participates in engineering and capital cost estimating and works to assure compliance with project schedules and control estimates.
  • Supports company objectives pertaining to quality, health, safety, security, and the environment.
  • Provides technical guidance to discipline staff as well as mentoring to junior team members.
  • As a discipline lead, supports the Engineering Manager in directives issued as part of the office and Corporate goals by cascading down within the discipline.
We think you should have:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical).
  • A minimum of 10 years\' experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Must be registered or eligible for licensure with Professional Engineers and Geoscientists Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL).
