The Location:

Hollyburn Country Club is located in West Vancouver at 950 Cross Creek Road. Prior to applying for this position, we strongly encourage you to Google our location to ensure that you will be able to travel to and from work as public transportation is limited.



Position Summary



Our service mission is to provide the Hollyburn membership with an unparalleled dining experience in a premium casual setting. By delivering exceptional hospitality and attentive service, we aim to create memorable moments that our Members are proud to share with family and friends. The Lead Host is the first and last point of contact for guests, setting the tone for their dining experience. This role is responsible for overseeing the host team, managing reservations and guest flow, and ensuring that service standards are consistently upheld. The Lead Host guides and supports the host team to deliver warm, efficient, and professional service aligned with the restaurant's standards.



Position Responsibilities



Guest Experience & Front Door Operations



Greet and farewell guests warmly and professionally

Manage reservations, seating charts, and table turns efficiently to maximize guest flow

Manage the waitlist and communicate accurate wait times to guests in a confident, reassuring manner

Handle guest complaints or concerns discreetly, escalating to management as needed

Maintain composure and a leadership presence during busy periods

Team Leadership & Coaching



Oversee host team operations during service

Guide, train, and support hosts in their responsibilities and standards

Delegate host roles each shift (e.g. greeter, reservation manager, seater, phone host, support) for smooth coverage

Provide real-time coaching and feedback to develop team skills and confidence

Model professional demeanor, appearance, and guest interactions at all times

Communication & Coordination



Communicate effectively with managers, servers, bartenders, and kitchen team to ensure seamless service flow

Attend pre-shift meetings prepared with reservation and waitlist updates

Support overall service operations by anticipating needs and assisting as required



Skills & Qualifications



Strong leadership and team coaching abilities

Confident and poised under pressure

Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is an asset.

Valid Serving It Right and Food Safe Level 1 certifications (required).

Confident, polished appearance aligned with fine-dining standards

High attention to detail and commitment to guest experience

Flexibility to work varying shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Own transportation is an asset due to the Club's location and limited public transit options.

Candidates aged 19 or older must complete a Police Information Check with a vulnerable sector search as part of the onboarding process.

Working Conditions:



This position operates 100% on-site

Regular evenings or weekend work may be required during peak periods or special events

Own transportation is an asset as public transportation is not frequent to/from the Club
