on the Freshwater team at our Hatchery in

Northampton, NB

ABOUT THE JOB




Reporting to the Hatchery Manager, in the Lead Hatchery Technician role you will work full time Monday to Friday at our Hatchery facility. You will be responsible for duties including, feeding, grading/counting or measuring fish, vaccinating fish, moving and shipping fish, mortality removal, site security, maintenance, clean up, reporting, record keeping, document management, monitoring fish behaviour, appearance and health while ensuring safety and biosecurity measures are being followed.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR




The ideal candidate would be safety oriented and forward-thinking with a passion for the industry. They would have:


3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Respect for the need for safe working practices and animal welfare Well-developed English verbal and written communication Demonstrated skills and experience in providing leadership to a team Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines for production A positive attitude, willingness to learn and participate in training opportunities Good critical thinking abilities, decision-making abilities and sound judgment Ability to report accurately, keep detailed records and manage documents Basic computer skills (e.g. Aquafarmer, word processing, spreadsheets & databases) Physical capability to lift and handle up to 25kg of material complete repetitive physical tasks A positive attitude and desire to work in a team oriented environment Ability to work safely and effectively indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Willingness to work flexibly to meet the demands of the job as needed Legally eligible to work in Canada
