We are seeking a skilled and motivated

Equipment Operator

to join our team in

Vernon, BC

. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating excavators, skid steers, and dozers, along with a strong understanding of general excavation practices. Leadership qualities and a team-focused mindset are essential, as this role may involve overseeing aspects of on-site work and collaborating closely with crew members.

Key Responsibilities

Operate a variety of heavy equipment including excavators, skid steers, and dozers safely and efficiently. Perform excavation work for foundations, roads, retaining walls, septic systems, demolition projects, and more. Maintain and inspect equipment to ensure safe operating conditions and minimize downtime. Interpret site plans and instructions to ensure accurate and efficient completion of tasks. Collaborate with the team to coordinate daily operations and resolve on-site challenges. Assist in guiding or supervising less experienced operators or laborers when necessary. Follow all company safety procedures and regulatory requirements on job sites.

Qualifications

Proven experience operating excavators, skid steers, and dozers. Experience in general excavation, including foundation work, road construction, septic system installs, retaining walls, and demolition. Leadership qualities with the ability to take initiative and support crew members. Additional equipment experience (e.g., rock trucks, compactors, loaders) is a strong asset. Valid Class 1 or Class 3 driver's license is considered a major asset. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to jobsite safety. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
