About the Opportunity

We are a growing landscape and light civil contracting company looking for an experienced

Lead Hand / Operator

. This role includes on-site training, opportunities for advanced skills development, and room for career growth.

You will work on a variety of projects including softscape and hardscape installs, grading, light civil work, and small equipment operation.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support a crew on daily tasks Complete landscape installations: planting, topsoil placement, sod installation, seeding, grading, and fencing Build Allan Block retaining walls; paver experience an asset Irrigation experience an asset, but not required Operate excavators (1.7-20 ton), skid steers, and related equipment Conduct daily equipment safety and maintenance checks Perform detailed and bulk excavation, grading, ditching, and sloping according to project specifications Read and interpret landscape and civil drawings for grading, layout, and pipe installation Maintain safe, tidy job sites and follow all safety procedures Delegate tasks and oversee safe use of tools and equipment Represent the company professionally with clients, subcontractors, and coworkers Report directly to the Foreman/Superintendent Perform general labour duties as required

Requirements

Minimum

3 years' experience

in landscaping or light civil construction Ability to safely and efficiently operate skid steers and compact excavators Valid

Class 5 driver's licence

(Class 3 is an asset) Physically fit; able to lift heavy materials repeatedly Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions Competent with power tools and hand tools Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications Strong communication, time management, problem-solving, and attention to detail Reliable transportation; must live in the Lower Mainland First Aid, Confined Space, and Fall Protection training are assets
