Krown Rust Control is seeking a reliable, organized, and hands-on
Lead Hand
to oversee the daily operations of our
Spray Technician team
. This individual will ensure rustproofing applications are carried out efficiently, safely, and according to our high-quality standards. The Lead Hand is responsible for coaching, mentoring, and supporting technicians, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Support
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the spray tech team (5-12 techs).
Train new technicians in proper spray techniques, safety protocols, and application expectations.
Lead team meetings to review goals, assignments, and any operational updates as needed.
Foster a positive team culture and resolve staff issues constructively.
Ensure each application is completed thoroughly and in line with our branded standards.
Monitor application quality and coach team members as needed.
Assist with applications.
Approve timecards, vacation requests and track sick time.
Customer Interaction
Interact with customers when necessary to explain application processes and address concerns.
Collaborate with the front desk team to ensure customer requests or inquires are properly handled.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Enforce health and safety protocols for the shop and spray bay areas.
Conduct regular safety checks and ensure proper use of PPE and spray gear.
Report and document incidents, hazards, or equipment failures.
Equipment Maintenance
Perform and/or oversee daily checks, basic maintenance, and cleaning of all spray equipment and tools.
Maintain hoists, spray guns, hoses, pressure washers and compressors in good working order.
Identify equipment issues early and coordinate repairs or servicing to minimize downtime.
Keep maintenance logs and ensure all gear meets operational safety standards.
Qualifications:
1-2 years of experience in a spray technician or automotive service or heavy equipment service role; supervisory experience is an asset.
Willingness to learn our application process and product knowledge.
Mechanical aptitude and experience with basic equipment maintenance or troubleshooting.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Physically fit and comfortable working under vehicles and in changing temperatures.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Saturday mornings during the fall months
Wage and Benefits
$26-$30 per hour plus 4% vacation pay
Health, Dental and Vision benefits available to you after 3 months
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 - 50 per week
