JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Manager Housekeeping and Laundry Services, the Housekeeping/ Laundry Lead Hand performs assigned duties related to the cleaning, maintenance and servicing of resident accommodations and other areas within Holy Family Home.

The position will promote the Mission of the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate by supporting the care values regarding the provision of quality care, loving environment, Christian ideals and principles, respect for life and dignity of person, and preservation of our traditional ethnic customs.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education

• Minimum level high school education or equivalent.
• Previous experience is an asset.

• Experience

• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, supplies and materials
• Knowledge of and experience in the operation of all equipment used in both Housekeeping and Laundry
• Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)

• Skills

• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to maintain positive working relationships
• Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
• Completes and maintains a satisfactory pre-employment security check
• Satisfactory employment record
• Must be dependable, punctual, accurate and honest.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
