ABOUT THE ROLE
With a passion for care towards residents, families and team members, a career as the Electrician Lead Hand at Bethany is both personally and professionally rewarding. In this hands-on/leadership position, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations related to the maintenance of the facility's electrical systems and for the installation, and repair of all electrical devices and equipment. You will be responsible for the stewardship of Bethany Calgary's physical assets, and the provision of a safe, comfortable, well maintained physical environment responsive to the needs of residents, employees and volunteers.
Reporting to the Area Supervisor Facilities, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Electrical Maintenance Team, including the effective and efficient use of physical, financial and human resources within the department's budgetary guidelines.

Documentation:
Accurate, comprehensive and timely documentation of resident care assessment, interventions and outcomes in alignment with Bethany policies and procedures.
Leadership:
Establish what the priorities are at each site and within the organization
Safety:
Contributes to a safe environment for residents, the team and self by understanding and adhering to safety guidelines and practices at all times.
Pro-active Learner:

Cares for and works cooperatively with others as an effective team member.
WHAT YOU BRING
Grade 12 education or recognized equivalent
Previous experience as an Electrician in the maintenance and repair field in a hospital or large facility environment
Minimum 2 years supervisory/management experience
Preferred minimum of 2 years of experience as a Building Operator in a facility
Experience with budgetary and accounting procedures pertaining to building, equipment and life
support systems. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office; especially Outlook, Word and Excel
Project Management experience is considered an asset
Flexible schedule and availability for emergencies and be available for on call coverage (rotation)
Experience with BMS and Security software
Journeyman Electrician's Certification, Masters preferred.
Fire Alarm Certification
Able to work effectively in a physically and mentally demanding environment.
Must demonstrate an acceptable level of reading, writing, and comprehension of English language skills.
Valid Class 5 driver's license.
Knowledge of blueprint and specifications reading and implementation.
Maintenance experience in a healthcare environment and ability to prepare the site for audit at a short notice is considered an asset.
Proven ability to organize and prioritize various demands.
Must have a strong working knowledge of fire codes, building codes, and general safety regulations.
