Position Overview
As a Lead Retail Associate at Cabot Cape Breton, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional golf experiences to our guests. Your responsibilities will include assisting the leadership of daily operations of the Golf Shop, including inventory, and ensuring a high level of guest service. You will lead a team of associates, assist guest with their golf-related needs, and provide detailed information about golf merchandise, apparel, and equipment. Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for golf are essential in this role. By maintaining a well-organized golf shop, offering personalized assistance, and creating a welcoming atmosphere, you will contribute significantly to the overall satisfaction of our golfing guests, enhancing their enjoyment of Cabot Cape Breton's world-class golf facilities, leading the team to achieve operational goals as well as ensuring a quality workplace environment for staff members to excel in.

Preferred qualifications and skills:
3-5 years' experience in a retail environment
Strong understanding of golf - the game and culture
Some post-secondary education in the fields of business, hospitality or sports management
Requirements of the role you should be aware of:
Based on the nature of our business and the service we provide to our guests; to work with us, you must consent to a criminal background check as a condition of employment and an additional criminal background check every two years.
As a seasonal resort business, you can anticipate a schedule that will involve day, evening, night, and weekend work.
Retail experience and knowledge of golf is preferred
Our retail positions offer a fast-paced work environment, where everyone pitches in and participates in all functions
All store positions require constant physical activity, including standing, walking, reaching and grasping.
To best perform these responsibilities, employees must be able to communicate face-to-face and, on the phone.
Constant focus and repetitive work are to be expected
Based on the nature of this position, you would experience long periods of guest interactions
Ability to manage timeline pressures and constraints
Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and otherwise moving luggage, golf clubs, and objects up to 80 lbs in weight
Assisting the manager in training staff, delegating tasks, and motivating team members to maintain standards and deliver a world-class experience.
Problem Solving; Dealing with daily challenges, like resolving guest issues, managing staff, or ensuring smooth operations, can be rewarding for those who enjoy problem solving and keeping things running smoothly.
