We currently have an opening for a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our Vaughan, ON office. To lead a team dedicated to developing and supporting the growth of Modern Niagara\xe2\x80\x99s engineering services. The Electrical Design Engineer is a full-time permanent position, for the engineering services of Modern Niagara nationally. We are seeking a strong candidate that will help Modern Niagara continue to position itself as an innovative industry leader as it relates to design and engineering innovation.

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with management to develop business strategies related to potential growth areas in electrical engineering as related to construction.
  • Collaborate with the consultant team during the design development/pursuit phase to improve value engineering, constructability, cost estimation, and final price determination.
  • Assume responsibilities ranging from master planning to detailed construction documentation.
  • Actively participate in design review meetings with project stakeholders to establish a deeper understanding of the project\'s requirements, goals, and challenges.
  • Responsible for the design, specification, calculations, and application selection of Electrical Low Voltage and Medium Voltage systems.
  • Prepare designs for electrical, utility-provided power distribution, standby power distribution (UPS & generators), lighting, lightning protection, and fire alarm conceptual systems.
  • Perform detailed electrical design work and review the work of junior designers.
  • Develop unified national processes, standards, and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 10+ years of experience in the Engineering Industry.
  • P.Eng. registration in Canada.
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university.
  • Strong understanding and experience with schematic design, design development, detailed design calculations, and contract administration
  • Knowledge of ETAP.
  • Expert in Power system Studies, including Short Circuit, Load Flow, Relay Coordination and Arc Flash studies.
  • Expert proficiency in Canadian building codes and design standards.
  • Mentorship ability and interest in developing the technical capabilities of junior staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with integrated teams of consultants and contractors.
