We are seeking a

Lead Developer / Team Lead - Senior Java Developer

to join ActiVia Networks Canada, Inc., a STRATACACHE company based in Montreal.

Looking for something real?

Our team builds and maintains the digital menu management tool used by major quick-service restaurant chains.

Our goal: every restaurant screen shows the right content, at the right time -- and never goes black.


You'll join a small, tight-knit team (5-6 people) where we code, collaborate, and solve real challenges.

As a technical lead who still loves to code (around 70% dev, 30% leadership), you'll guide the team, shape our architecture, and help keep things running smoothly for thousands of locations.

What you will do

Lead and support your team of backend, frontend, and QA developers Design, build, and improve our Java/Spring platform and contract-first APIs Take part in architecture discussions and code reviews Ensure reliability and data validation -- no dark screens allowed Work closely with Product, QA, and Operations Share knowledge, documentation, and good practices across the team

What we're looking for

7+ years of backend Java experience, including 2+ years in a lead or senior technical role Strong skills in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and SQL (PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB) Familiar with Elasticsearch and Docker Natural leadership, autonomy, and ownership of the product Bilingual (French/English) -- you'll collaborate with Operations too
