You will be responsible for the precise and high-quality construction of couture and made to measure fashion garments and accessories. As a Lead Couture Seamstress, you will be expected to lead the sewing team by using your wealth of experience and knowledge to understand and work within our systems and standards.

Requirements:

MINIMUM 5 YEARS SUIT TAILORING EXPERIENCE

. Dressmaking does not count. Proven experience as a luxury fashion sewer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing high-quality sewing work. A minimum of

10 YEARS PROFESSIONAL SEWING EXPERIENCE.

Advanced ability to put together complete (no piece work) and made to measure garments. Strong ability to work with tailored jackets, pants, dresses, and skirts. Proficiency in advanced sewing techniques, including but not limited to couture sewing, hand stitching, and embellishments. In-depth knowledge of garment construction, fabric characteristics, and luxury fashion production processes. Familiarity with various fabrics, their properties, and appropriate sewing techniques for different materials. Experience in working with industrial sewing machines, sergers, and other relevant equipment. Ability to interpret patterns, technical drawings, and design specifications accurately. Knowledge of responsible and circular practices in luxury fashion production is a plus.
Responsibilities:

Garment construction: Ensure precise stitching, seam finishes, and attention to detail in every aspect of the sewing process. Quality control: Maintain a high level of quality in all sewing tasks, ensuring that finished products meet the brand's standards. Conduct regular inspections to identify and rectify any sewing or construction issues, such as uneven stitches, loose threads, or fitting discrepancies. Machine operation and maintenance: Operate industrial sewing machines and other equipment effectively and safely. Collaboration with the design team: Communicate with designers, pattern-makers, and other team members to understand the desired design aesthetic and technical requirements. Seek clarification when needed to ensure accurate execution of sewing tasks. Sample production: Collaborate with the design team to create samples and prototypes, following design specifications and instructions. Participate in fittings and make necessary alterations to achieve the desired fit and style. Time management and productivity: Adhere to production schedules and meet established deadlines. Optimize sewing techniques and processes to maximize efficiency and productivity without compromising quality. Material and inventory management: Work with production assistant to keep track of sewing supplies, fabrics, and trims. Notify appropriate personnel when inventory needs replenishment. Ensure proper storage and organization of materials to maintain a clean and efficient work environment. Adherence to brand standards: Uphold the brand's standards of craftsmanship, quality, and attention to detail in all sewing tasks. Follow established guidelines and techniques to maintain consistency across fashion products.
