Armatec is looking for a Lead Cook/Coordinator in our on-site Cafeteria!

Please note that to be a candidate for this position; you must be able to obtain Government Security Clearance.

General Description:

The Cafeteria Coordinator assists in ensuring food is prepared for employees in a timely manner on a daily basis, while in adherence of all food service and handling policies and procedures.

Job Duties:

Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.

Daily menu preparation and ordering of supplies

Ensure food is prepared and ready for lunch and break schedules

Monitor the quality and quantity of food that is prepared

Maintain kitchen, coffee and condiment areas to sanitary standards

Prepare foods for special parties and groups and assist in the planning of these events, as required

Ensure effective use of all food supplies and avoid food waste

Receive and create ingredient and supply orders within budgets

Provide friendly customer service to employees and guests

Ensure the adherence to safe and sanitary kitchen practices at all times

Train staff in the use and maintenance of cafeteria equipment as needed

Identify and correct problems or potential problems related to food safety and cleanliness

Identify ways to improve work processes, efficiency, and quality

Ensure HACCP procedures are followed at all times during food production

Prepare special meals or substitute items to accommodate health and/or dietary restrictions

Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.

Monitor cafeteria equipment and maintain freezer logs,

Participate in regular Ministry of Health inspection.

Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional;

Be available to assist guests' food service needs, sometimes with little notice.

Comply with the Company Health & Safety rules and regulations in accordance with the Act

Other reasonable duties as required

Requirements:

Formal chef or culinary training would be an asset

Baking experience would be an asset

Minimum 5 years of food service work experience.

Food Handling Certificate required

High School Diploma or equivalent completed

Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

Knowledge of safe food preparation and handling techniques

Knowledge of nutritional standards and applications

Understanding of vendor relations including quotation and ordering process

Working computer skills and knowledge of MS Word, Excel and e-mail

Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision

Customer service experience required

Strong work ethic and positive team attitude

Ability to stand or walk for an extended period of time.

Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling.

Ability to move or lift objects up to 25 pounds without assistance

Must have a valid driving license

Ability to pass a Security Clearance process
