The URM is a faith-based Christian organization supporting the homeless community. We are looking for someone with a strong gift for cooking creatively, coupled with a vibrant spiritual life in tune with God's heart for the people we serve and driven to produce results (fruit) that will benefit those we serve forever. This is a full time position 40 hours a week Thursday to Sunday.

Position Requirements

Prepare, cook, and serve daily meals, snacks, and beverages Maintaining kitchen cleanliness, including Dishes, Floors, Countertops, and Walls. Able to follow direction Be a self-starter Respect and follow necessary boundaries with coworkers, volunteers, and guests Supports the serving of meals Maintain professionalism and work well under pressure Creative thinker Other duties as assigned. Above all, work as a team member.

Accountability

Report to the Kitchen Coordinator. Attend monthly team meetings Attend regularly scheduled 1:1 with manager

Qualifications:

A high school diploma required Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and be physically fit for standing in the kitchen for a full shift. Must have good planning and foresight when it comes to preparing meals at the Mission Be a creative thinker, can think outside the box in preparing meals This can be a high-pressure environment where adapting to change is essential. Be willing to do a criminal record check. Trained in Food Services A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a commercial kitchen Valid Food Safe Certificate
