THE POSITION





The Concession Support Lead will oversee and mentor a diverse team of individuals with varying abilities and will ensure an inclusive and supportive work environment. The successful candidate will coordinate the setup and maintenance of Concession areas, provide personalized guidance to their team members, and collaborate with management to promote safety, efficiency, and exceptional guest service.




KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES




Team Leadership & Development*
+ Oversee and mentor the Concessions Support Team composed of individuals with varying abilities + Provide one-on-one support throughout each event, tailoring the support to individual needs
+ Lead pre-shift meetings to prepare and motivate the team
+ Train new and existing staff on procedures, guest service standards and best practices
+ Collaborate with other support leads to continuously adapt roles and responsibilities
Communication & Collaboration*
+ Maintain consistent communication with the Concessions Management Team and the Community Support Workers + Actively participate in pre-event lead meetings
+ Ensure open, ongoing communication with support team members to address the needs and provide timely accommodation
Event Operations & Guest Experience*
+ Ensure proper setup, stocking, and takedown of all condiment stations before, during, and after the events + Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Stand Leads to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained
+ Maintain a clean, organized, and safe concession area
+ Assist guests as needed, ensuring a welcoming and accessible experience for all
Other*
+ Promote a safe, and clean work environment + Actively participate in safety programs and follow policies
+ All other duties as assigned.






THE INDIVIDUAL





The ideal individual will have the following background:


1-2 years of supervisory experience in the food and beverage industry Has a valid Alberta Basic Food Safety and Proserve certification Experience or education related to working with special needs and disabilities is considered an asset. A strong passion for guest services Excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills Can thrive in a fast-paced environment that is team-oriented

Please note that this position is based on the event schedule in a fast-paced environment, with emphasis on evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays. Shift lengths vary and require flexible working hours.
