Our team works both onsite at client homes throughout Belleville, Kingston, and surrounding areas, as well as from our fully equipped shop at 50 Tank Farm Rd in Belleville. We are seeking an experienced Lead Cabinet Painter to oversee all cabinet refinishing projects from start to finish.
Position Overview
The Lead Cabinet Painter manages the complete cabinet refinishing process, including removal, prep, spraying, finishing, reinstalling, and communicating with clients. This role requires advanced skill with professional spray equipment, premium coatings, and detailed masking procedures for onsite cabinet box spraying. The Lead Painter will guide the team, maintain production standards, and ensure top-tier results.
Key Responsibilities:
Cabinet Preparation & Painting
Remove cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware safely and efficiently
Clean, de-grease, sand, and prepare surfaces to ensure proper adhesion and durability.
Apply primers and premium coatings using professional HVLP or airless spray systems.
Deliver smooth, flawless finishes that reflect Top Pick Painters' quality standards.
Reinstall hardware, hinges, doors, and drawers with proper alignment and fit.
Jobsite Leadership & Team Oversight
Lead the painting team through the full project process, from preparation to completion.
Assign tasks, oversee workflow, and ensure production timelines are met.
Train team members on correct prep, spraying, masking techniques, and safety procedures.
Maintain high-quality control standards throughout the job.
Client Communication & Professionalism
Serve as the primary onsite contact for clients.
Provide progress updates, answer client questions, and ensure exceptional service.
Maintain a clean, organized jobsite and uphold company professionalism.
Spraying & Site Protection
Operate professional spray equipment confidently and safely.
Set up spray areas, including shop spray booths and onsite containment.
Mask and protect floors, walls, ceilings, appliances, and nearby surfaces before spraying cabinet boxes in client homes.
Ensure all overspray management and protection procedures are followed.
Qualifications
3-5+ years of cabinet painting experience (required).
Strong proficiency with professional spray equipment (HVLP, airless, etc.).
Full understanding of cabinet removal, prep, priming, spraying, finishing, and reinstalling.
Experience with premium coatings and ability to produce high-end finishes.
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Leadership experience or the ability to direct a team confidently.
Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and working in residential environments.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Compensation & Benefits
