Overview


Reporting to the Vice-President, Operations and Academics, the Lead, Online Business Specialist for the Micro-course Team is responsible for working with micro-course learners and supporting the micro-course line of business through business development, implementation functions, and quality assurance activities to support continuous improvement and market performance.


This is a hybrid role: candidate must be able to report to campus at least 3 days per week.





Key Responsibilities


Business & Department Development

Create and enhance the foundation of the Micro-course line of business. Develop and implement standards for learners' experience, support, and overall business success. Responsible for hiring, onboarding, and training micro-course instructors. Responsible for instructor performance management. Responsible for business development; seeks endorsements, partnerships, and grant opportunities that may be available for micro-course learners. Responsible for monitoring industry best practices and implementing improvements. Supports the academic team in developing new micro-courses and various activities involved in launching a new offering. Manage Course Merchant (online store). Plans micro-course fiscal registration and start date schedule. Monitor monthly micro-course enrollments. Monitor, track, and report on metrics including revenue related to KPI on a monthly and quarterly basis. Liaises with Marketing to ensure promotional activities are planned. Responds to student inquiries.
Processes Academic requests Supports the Student Admissions Team with initiatives to provide a pathway to Robertson certificate and diploma programs. Supports microcourse accreditation reporting processes as required. Other administrative duties or projects as assigned.


Participate in College, Division, and Program Activities

Attends staff meetings and training sessions. Participates proactively in performance appraisals. Supports active interdepartmental cooperation with other departments. Performs other duties/participates in special projects as assigned.


Minimum Requirements:

Degree or diploma in education, project management, business, or related field. A minimum of two years of experience in higher education is an asset. Knowledge and experience with course development software and Learning Management Systems an asset. Strong communication and analytical skills. Ability to build and maintain an effective working relationship with instructors, students, and team members. Ability to multitask and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Highly self-motivated and self-directed A high level of attention to detail. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Ability to work with a team to achieve goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work in a diverse, inclusive environment. Must be able to balance the responsibility of revenue generation and experience quality. A desire to build, deploy, and manage a learner experience with a strong focus on user experience ensuring seamless engaging, and impactful interactions. Clear criminal records check.
