Position Summary:

The primary role for the incumbent is to provide brand and franchise business intelligence support as well as commercial field sales operations and analytics support within the Sanofi Genzyme (SG) GBU. This role will be the lead for a specific franchise/therapeutic area with the objective to facilitate the collection, interpretation and dissemination of customer insights to strengthen insight driven decision making.

The main activities under his/her leadership are:

Responsible for contributing to strategic vision and development of operational plan for relevant business analytics tools including implementation, training and reporting.

Responsible for supporting the organization's performance tracking and management system using and integrating multiple data sources.

Responsible for the development of field sales insight strategy, including development and dissemination of reports and analytics for the franchise/TA.

Responsible to manage SG franchise/TA data purchases and to ensure optimal and cost-effective consumer insights.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

Support and lead annual strategic/long-range planning process jointly with Finance, and in-depth review of franchise/TA, as needed.

Manage the environmental/market assessment process; work with Global Business Operations/Competitive Intelligence.

Develop the processes, tools, and methodologies to provide the organization with insights needed to support strategic decision making.

Identify and coordinate changes required (operational, technological, skills, competencies, etc..) to successfully implement the strategy.

Support the evaluation of the potential profitability of market opportunities and marketing initiatives proposed by franchise/TA.

Work with brand teams in promoting innovation in marketing, business analytics.

Sales Operations & Business Intelligence

Responsible for the development of a market and business intelligence plan for a franchise/TA.

Lead as the primary point of contact for franchise/TA to identify & prioritize the actions to be included in the business intelligence plan.

Review and evaluate, from a business perspective, business drivers, contracts/agreements, business proposals/cases as well as provide brand leads/franchise heads with recommendations to help achieve desired company results.

Develop the design and operation of a reporting system(s): KPIs, dashboard, balanced scorecard, etc. to assess the performance of the brands and franchises.

Lead franchise/TA interpretation and analysis of key business indicators to identify and communicate trends, and issues.

Monitor reporting operations, improve pertinence and efficiency of data collection and reporting.

Partner with commercial teams to establish accurate, real time market and operational forecasts.

Liaise with global and local teams to establish high quality market and forecast models.

Working with finance, ensure budgeting and forecasting systems and process to achieve timely and accurate reporting to management and corporate personnel

Support franchises in connections with global and local supply; Work with brands to create demand scenarios in support of the long-range planning process.

Internal Interactions

Provide the GBU/franchise/TA with strategic business intelligence in order to support development of marketing/brand plans putting the needs of the patient at the center.

Provide prioritised input as requested by brands to take accountability for business operations led activities eg CRM, dashboards, sales training, etc., in line with global and local policies and procedures.

Develop relationships with internal key contacts (other affiliates, Region, Global, and other GBUs) in order to share best practice; take part in cross-functional transformation programmes; obtain acceptance of and approval of Canadian projects; and influence global Sanofi Genzyme business operations strategy.

Management of Resources

Adhere to company-defined processes for the selection of and agreement of commercial terms with vendors.

Understand and use internal procedures and tools to ensure the compliant and efficient operation of the "Purchase to Pay" process.

Work with brand leads or Business Operations & Support (BO&S) colleagues to support procurement, vendor negotiations and project deployment of key operational initiatives including technology, and patient engagement.

Ongoing support for KPI development and performance tracking of key vendor relationships.

Manage current and incoming contracts for key data deliverables.

Support the management and onboarding of new vendors to plan and manage their data sets into our ongoing operational effectiveness platform.

Oversee vendor data accountability programs, ensure ongoing data delivery quality and timeliness.

Perform all necessary data consistency and validation on incoming data and seamlessly integrate this information with existing data sources.

Establish vendor and data management roadmap to ensure that business deliverables are met.

Project Leadership

Leading or working on team-based projects, hold individuals and teams accountable for their performance & promote the culture of high performance within business operations.

Take personal accountability to use personal experience and knowledge, as well as the training and tools provided by Sanofi, to maintain a good knowledge and understanding of all ethics and governance relevant to the role (including the Industry Code of Practice, Sanofi Policies and Procedures and any relevant legal requirements); and demonstrate personal leadership in applying these to all work undertaken.

Escalate any decisions, or seek the support of colleagues or management if personal knowledge and understanding is not at the level required to carry out any part of the role.

External

Primary point of contact for:

Relevant vendors.

Key Requirements:

BA/BS in Business or Finance or relevant area.

Advanced degree (MBA, MSc, etc) highly preferred.

Five or more years of progressive biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience involving sales, marketing, business operations, and/or analytics.

Experience managing teams or projects with sales and/or operational orientation.

Excellent people and communication skills.

Extensive experience using CRM and Business Intelligence tools including Power BI, Qlikview/QlikSense.

Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.

Ability to think strategically and act in a detailed, hands-on manner.

Experience in cross-functional teams without direct line authority; ability to build consensus across functions.

Expert in using complex data sets and database management skills (SQL).

Experience with ERP systems (SAP), programming, and data visualization (e.g., PowerBI, Cognos, QlikView/QlikSense, Tableau).

Advanced Computer skills including expert proficiency in MS excel; experience in statistical software or social media mining software is an asset.

Fluency in written and spoken English; French is an asset.

Self-starter who functions well independently and within a team.
