About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Lead Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure backend systems that power our applications. This role requires excellent skills in PHP/Laravel and building RESTful interfaces. The Lead Engineering role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, ownership of backend architecture, a strong focus on performance, security, and maintainability and ability to mentor other developers.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure backend services and RESTful APIs using PHP/Lavavel. Translate business requirements into well-architected backend solutions that support product and user needs. Participate in and help lead architectural discussions, contributing to technical decisions across projects. Collaborate with Product, Front-End, QA, Design, and DevOps teams to deliver new features and improve existing systems. Write clean, efficient, testable, and maintainable code, following established engineering best practices. Implement and maintain database schemas, data models, and integrations with third-party services. Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and help mentor junior developers. Ensure application performance, reliability, and security, including monitoring and troubleshooting production issues. Stay current with emerging backend technologies, frameworks, and architectural patterns, and propose improvements to the development process. Take ownership of the full software development lifecycle, from design and development through deployment, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of professional experience in backend development in PHP/Laravel Strong experience with at least one backend language or framework. Experience building and maintaining RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs. Solid understanding of databases and data modeling. Familiarity with authentication, authorization, and security best practices. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. * Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
