Position Overview



We are seeking an experienced

Lead Analytics Engineer

with 10+ years in Data Engineering & Analytics to lead the design, development, and support of Snowflake-based data solutions with Power BI expertise. This role requires a hands-on leader who can work directly with clients on-site, manage day-to-day technical needs, and ensure that scalable, high-performance data and analytics solutions are delivered.

The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable with Snowflake development, Power BI reporting, solution design, stakeholder interaction, and mentoring junior resources.

Required Skills & Qualifications



10+ years of experience in Data Engineering & Analytics, with 3+ years in Snowflake development & optimization. Strong hands-on expertise in Snowflake architecture, SQL, and stored procedures. Proven success in end-to-end data pipeline design and ETL/ELT implementation. Deep understanding of data modeling techniques (dimensional, OLAP, relational). Strong experience in Power BI dashboarding & enterprise productionalization. Proven track record of working directly with clients to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions. Excellent problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities



Requirements & Solutioning

Partner directly with business stakeholders & clients to gather requirements, refine solutions, and translate them into technical deliverables. Curate and evolve enterprise data models to support scalable reporting and analytics. Ensure solutions are aligned with business objectives and can scale for future needs.
Snowflake Design & Architecture

Architect and develop scalable Snowflake solutions, applying best practices for data modeling and optimization. Lead design of data warehousing structures (star, snowflake, data vault, normalized). Oversee compute and storage optimization to balance performance with cost efficiency.
Data Development & Integration

Build and manage robust ETL/ELT pipelines using dbt, Python, Talend, Matillion, or custom SQL. Integrate Snowflake with various structured/unstructured sources (cloud services, APIs, on-prem systems). Implement data ingestion strategies for both batch and real-time processing.
Performance Tuning & Optimization

Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, procedures, and transformations. Monitor and fine-tune Snowflake virtual warehouses, caching, and clustering strategies. Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks in performance and data delivery.
Power BI Development & Productionalization

Lead the design, development, and deployment of Power BI dashboards and datasets connected to Snowflake. Implement row-level security, refresh scheduling, and workspace governance. Drive enterprise adoption of Power BI dashboards through scalable productionization.
Data Governance & Security

Establish and enforce role-based access controls, data privacy, and compliance frameworks. Support data quality and validation frameworks with automation where possible. Ensure regulatory compliance for sensitive and financial data.
Collaboration, Leadership & Client Engagement

Act as the primary technical lead on-site, managing client expectations and daily technical needs. Provide mentorship and technical oversight to data engineers, BI developers, and analysts. Serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring delivery of business-ready analytics. Promote best practices for Snowflake-Power BI integration (DirectQuery, Import, Hybrid).

Preferred Qualifications



Experience with Python development (transformations, automation, APIs). Exposure to web development concepts for embedding analytics. Experience with Azure deployment & integration with Snowflake/Power BI. Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, and Git-based workflows. Certifications: SnowPro Core/Advanced Architect and/or Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst. Experience with other BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Qlik) is an asset.

Education & Experience



Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. 10+ years of Data Warehousing/Engineering experience, including client-facing leadership responsibilities.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
