LBS Instructor / Workshop Facilitator
Two Full Time Positions Start: April 1, 2023 or ASAP
35 Hours per Week; $24.53 \xe2\x80\x93 $29.90 per hour Deadline for submission is 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2023 General :
The function of this position is to instruct classrooms; supporting adult individuals in a group setting to develop and reach individualized goals by creating curriculum to match their needs based on their goal path
(education, employment, independence). The successful applicant will be client centered, a strong facilitator, experienced in case management with strong administration and digital technology skills. Employment experience in Employment Ontario/Employment Services will be considered a valuable asset as well as experience working in Social Services with an understanding of the OALFC and CaMS. Typical duties of this position will include, but are not restricted to the following:
  • Work with multi-barriered, adult individuals, including; LD, DD setting and supporting towards individualized goals
  • Complete assessments of skills and determine approaches to classroom instruction and direction to how to support Learners in being successful
  • Create and update Learner Plans according to OALCF guidelines while setting/monitoring meaningful and measureable goals
  • Lead small classrooms of multi-leveled Learners in group and individualized lessons, based on the needs of those Learners
  • Create learning materials, individualized for inside and out of class
  • Maintain accurate files, documentation and complete administration responsibilities as needed, including; entering and updating case notes, following strict file guidelines, create/update Learner
Plans, complete follow up documentation, opening/closing files, completing Learner assessments
  • Use of technologies; MS programs, communicate and keep documentation, video conferencing for distance meetings, using outlook, OneDrive and other online programs;
  • Collaborate with organizations to network and build relationships
  • Conduct workshop facilitation to external organizations and clientelle
  • Remain flexible and accept other duties as assigned by the LBS Coordinator
Skills, Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Minimum College Diploma in a social services field, adult education (or equivalent)
  • A minimum of 1-2 years experience in workshop facilitation ideally with multi-barriered individuals with an employment outcome focus
  • Experience in case management, addressing barriers, goal-setting, and referrals to services
  • Strong digital technology skills and comfortability with MS Office, CaMS, other case management software, email, online job searching/application
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on professionalism, partnership development and a positive customer experience
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong professional relationships with clientele, follow up and maintenance of relationships
  • Be adaptable, flexible and driven to achieve positive personal and team outcomes
  • Access to a reliable vehicle for semi-regular travel throughout the Niagara Region
  • Able to obtain a clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check
These positions are funded for a time period of April 1st 2023 \xe2\x80\x93 March 31st 2024 and renewal will be based on continued funding.
