Lawyer - Administrative and Real Estate Litigation

This is a unique opportunity for a lawyer with 3 to 10 years of experience in administrative and real estate law. This boutique firm, located near the Quartier des Spectacles in Montreal, is positioned as THE partner to help businesses carry out their projects that are complex in terms of regulations (municipal, real estate, environmental, etc.). Composed of approximately ten lawyers specialized in their field, this team serves a business clientele mainly composed of innovative companies seeking to implement new technology / processes as well as real estate developers.

On your first visit to this firm, you will be amazed at how beautiful their facilities are, and probably unique in the metropolis. Spacious individual offices, bright common areas, modern furniture and not to mention unparalleled accommodations: two huge outdoor terraces, entertainment room (pool table, ping-pong table) as well as a separate bathroom with a custom shower!

This firm has implemented a salary scale that rivals that of the largest regional firms, and values a healthy, pleasant and humane work environment. The billable hours target is reasonable, and the equivalent of approximately 6 weeks of vacation time is granted to the lawyers on the team. Fridays are telecommuting days, and this firm offers certain benefits as well as an annual performance bonus.

Among the responsibilities of the role, you will be required to:

- Analyze and write options in relation to projects being considered by the company and the qualification of the resulting activities;
- Handle zoning issues, as well as obtaining various permits and authorizations
- Determine the applicable regulatory framework
- Negotiate with municipal and governmental entities;
- Accompanying clients through all contestation processes, including legal recourse, as well as social acceptability procedures;
- Independently manage litigation files, including examinations for discovery, contested hearings and trials;
