Salary: $65,000/yr or commensurate with experience.
Job Type: Full-Time/PermanentJob Summary:We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Residential Real Estate Law Clerk to join our legal team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing all aspects of residential real estate transactions from start to finish. This includes preparing legal documents, conducting title searches, communicating with clients, real estate agents, and other parties involved in transactions, and ensuring that all transactions are completed efficiently and accurately.Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review legal documents, including agreements of purchase and sale, mortgage documents, and title insurance.
  • Conduct title searches and review title issues to ensure properties are clear of any defects.
  • Manage all aspects of real estate transactions, including purchase, sale, refinancing, and transfers of title.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, lawyers, lenders, real estate agents, and government agencies to facilitate smooth transactions.
  • File and register documents with relevant government bodies (e.g., land registry, municipal property offices).
  • Coordinate closing procedures, ensuring all required documents and funds are available and deadlines are met.
  • Handle post-closing activities such as the registration of deeds, mortgages, and other relevant legal instruments.
  • Maintain detailed records and document management for all transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with legal standards, practices, and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Diploma or certificate in Law Clerk or Paralegal studies from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in residential real estate law.
  • Strong knowledge of residential real estate transactions, title insurance, and mortgage processes.
  • Proficiency with real estate software and legal document preparation (Lawyer Done Deal and Closer are an asset)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and other parties involved.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Understanding of provincial and federal real estate laws and regulations
