As we continue to expand, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Law Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in legal research, case preparation, and client interaction, with a strong ability to support attorneys in delivering high-quality legal services.

Key Responsibilities

:

Stay up to date on the Rules of Civil Procedure, LAT Rules and Procedures, CCLA Practice Directions, Case Center / Case Lines submission requirements. Attend applicable law clerk seminars and continuing education relevant to the firms areas of practice. Draft professional correspondence and communicate with legal professionals, clients and court staff. Manage and monitor critical court filing dates. Assist in the preparation of legal documents, including complaints, motions, and briefs. Draft and review legal correspondence and pleadings. Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and address inquiries. Maintain client confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Assist in the discovery process by preparing and organizing evidence, managing case files, and coordinating with experts. Draft discovery requests and responses. Prepare and file court documents, ensuring compliance with procedural rules and deadlines. Track and manage case schedules and deadlines. Review and action incoming correspondence from lawyers, insurers, and other third parties. Responsible for moving files forward through the litigation process. Provide general administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and organizing case-related documents.

Qualifications

:

Possess between 3 to 5 years of experience as a law clerk, with a strong background in injury law required. Experience in personal injury cases is mandatory. Excellent research and writing skills, with the ability to analyze complex legal issues. Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel. High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated commitment to ethical standards and professionalism in legal practice. Post secondary University Bachelor's degree is an asset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
