What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for an experienced Law Clerk, for a full-time, permanent position, to join our dynamic and growing firm in servicing our financial institution clients. The successful candidate should have strong knowledge of the litigation process.
The ideal candidate must possess excellent organizational talent along with the ability to multi-task and prioritize. This is a good position for someone who is detailed oriented, a self-starter with excellent technical skills and has the ability to work both within a team and independent environment. The successful candidate must also have a solid working knowledge of superior court and small claims court proceedings and procedures; and, experience working with ACL, Collectlink, and, Techcom. A great attitude and emphasis on client experience are essential.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, serve and file superior court and small claims court documents, including pleadings; affidavits; and, judgments;
Drafting documents and letters; mailing documents; preparing packages for process servers; and other miscellaneous administrative tasks as assigned from time to time;
Operate Collectlink and Techcom and other secured communications media, as required;
Maintain correspondence with debtors, clients, solicitors / agents, etc.;
Negotiate settlements with debtors, within client approved parameters;
Update and maintain file status charts using Korbitec and Ghostpractice;
Issue / file, amend and lift Writs, as required;
Assist lawyers on staff, as required;
Prepare and assign files to skip tracer and thereafter liaise with skip tracer to follow-up on files assigned;
Report to clients; and,
Issue invoices to client
Requirements:
Minimum 1-5 years previous experience as a Litigation Law Clerk
Strong knowledge of the litigation process in Ontario
The ability to effectively balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
Successful completion of a related post-secondary education program in a law clerk program

Experience with Techom/ACL//FCT/Collectlink
